Children’s Ministry at New Guilford Church

Vision & Purpose

To help children discover God in a personal way and to help guide them in their journey with Jesus.

We are committed to…

Using Biblically-sound curriculum, screening, and training volunteers, and maintaining a safe and loving environment. Our programs are designed through the year to help our kids learn to work, grow, play, and pray together.

We care about…

The spiritual growth of the children, the learning environment, and all children and their families.

Safety – The safety of our children is a top priority. We follow state requirements for background checks. All adults working with children – teachers, mentors, and other volunteers are  required to have updated child abuse history and criminal record checks, and employees are additionally required to have FBI clearances on file with the church.

We also have parental sign in sheets.  Parents/Guardians must sign in their children before entering the Nursery/Toddler area during service, Sunday School classes and Kid’s Club activities.  We also require parents to sign out their children as well.

Vacation Bible School Day Camp is Back!

The kids will blast off this year with our Vacation Bible School Day Camp program, “To Mars and Beyond!” Kids are invited to come out to the church from July 22nd to July 25th as we explore where God’s power can take us while we dig deep into the Book of Ephesians.  Our memory verse this year comes from Ephesians 3:20 “Glory to God who is able to do far BEYOND all that we could ask or imagine by His power at work within us.”

Our Kindergarteners to 6th graders will meet each day from 9 to 3:30 pm. Songs, games, crafts, bible stories and afternoon activities will keep your children active and entertained all day long!

Space is limited!  To register, download and print out our registration form.  You can email it to us at cm@ngbic.org, mail it to us at 1575 Mont Alto Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 or drop it off any afternoon.  2019-VBS-Reg-Form

We are looking forward to a great time at Day Camp!  Don’t miss out on the fun!

Sunday Morning

We view our worship service as an inter-generational opportunity for the whole family. All children are welcome to use the worship bags and children’s activity sheets located near the water fountain in the narthex.

Kid Zone Basement

Our nursery is fully staffed on Sunday mornings during the worship service and Sunday School. Parents are encouraged to visit the nursery at any time to check on their baby.

Toddlers (18 months – age 3) and Preschoolers (3-5) are welcomed to play in the full-staffed Toddler Room during the worship service. During the Sunday School hour the preschoolers move to their own room down the hall. Both classes use age-appropriate curriculum with Bible stories, crafts, and singing. A snack is also provided.

Kid Zone – 3rd Floor

We want to make Sunday morning the best hour of your child’s week! Children in grades K – 4th meet during Sunday School for Kid Worship and interactive Bible story time. They are then dismissed into small groups divided by grade for activities designed to reinforce God’s Word.

Wednesday Evening – Kid’s Club – Begins again in September!

What a great year we had in Kid’s Club.  We are already looking forward to our 2019-2020 program!  Check back in late summer for information on our September start date.

Kids from grades 1 through 6 are welcome to join us every Wednesday evening from September to April from 6:30 to 8 pm.  We are excited to use Pioneer Clubs’ DELTA program this year.  DELTA stands for

Disciples Equipped for Life Transformation & Action (Luke 10:27)

With DELTA, we will be exploring scriptures, memorizing verses, learning new skills and playing games.

Special activities include service opportunities, a fall field trip, a Pinewood Derby race, and an end of the year party.
